Unit
Hornaday Award 2010 Update
Well,
I just received notice from Indy N., the scout who lead the
Hayward Storm Drain Project last fall, that he was awarded
his Hornaday Silver Medal this week. He will receive his
medal at the National Jamboree this Summer. As mentioned,
this is a very prestigous award and very difficult to
achieve as it requires 8 conservation projects which are
equivalent to 8 Eagle projects. Indy wanted to extend his
heart felt gratitude to Troop 110 as 25% of the effort came
from the troop. Indy informs me the Unit Hornaday Award for
Troop 110 is in it's final stages and should receive notice
soon. We will receive the award at the district
dinner in May.
There are two other troops receiving the award as well. This
is a big deal for the troop as it helped so many. A big
thank you to all who
participated-
Yours

Troop 110
Rocks The House Again!!!
Saturday evening, May 7th,
2004, as you all know, was the annual Mission Peak District
Awards Dinner, and once again Troop 110 was well represented
among the recipients.
Unfortunately, no one from
the District Awards selection committee notified anyone from
the Troop leadership that there were to be so many people
recognized. For what it is worth I appologize on their
behalf -- they maintain a policy of keeping secret from the
recipients the awards that are given, so it must have been a
puzzlement for them, trying to figure out who to
call.
In any event, give a cheer
for the following hard working Scouters -- they will be
officially recognized by District representatives at the
Summer Court of Honor on Wednesday, June
8.
Mission Peak
Certificates of Appreciation were awarded to:
- From Troop 110: Bruce
Chan, Pam Mutch, Ted Mutch, Ron Natividad
- From Crew 110: Julia
Lloyd
- From Pack 268: Albert
Gallegos
- District Plaques were
awarded to: John Pedersen, Tom Sims
In addition, Troop 110 was
recognized as a Distinguished Unit for 2005, received
Kudos all around for the "Pirates of Los Mochos" Webelos
Woods event (yes, they are STILL raving about that!) and a
ribbon from Friends of Scouting for exceeding our Family
Goal again this year.
Thanks to everyone whose
hard work and dedication made all this
happen.
